Kailash Manasarovar yatra 2013

ஓம் நமசிவாய

The advertisement for this year's (2013)  Kailsh Manasarovar Yatra  appeared  on 06/01/2013  in all leading news papers. Those of you who were waiting for this golden opportunity may please avail the same.

Some of the improvements which has taken place this year are

1. The no of batches has been increased form 18 from 16. Two extra batches will be undertaking this yatra this year (120 devoteees can benifit because of this ).

2. The Yatra period has been reduced to 25 days  from the earlier 30 days including 3 days stay at Delhi for medical test and other formalities.  Now on the second day of the trek on the Indian side the yatri's will not be staying in Kalapani instead they have to trek to Nabidang ( 19 Km instead of 9 Km earlier. ) As the facilities have improved on the Chinese side all the 60 yatris are now accomodated in the camps of Kailash  so the whole group will travel together which will result in one day saving. Similarly the stay at Taklakot on the return has been reduced to one day. Thus the yatra period has been reduced , but it will be more strenuous to the yatris.

3. Government of Tamilnadu announced last year that it will  subsidize the cost of the Kailash yatra. So devotees from Tamilnadu can avail of this benefit.

On the other  side the costs have gone up

Fees to be paid to Chinese Govt (U.S $ 800) = Rs 45000
Fees to be paid to KMVN                                    Rs 35000
For Medical test at Delhi                                      Rs 3500
Miscellaneous Expenditure                                  Rs 10000

Approximately Rs one Lakh excluding porter and pony charges.
