First Darshan of Holy Kailash
The Beautiful view of Holy Kailash from Hore
In 1958, Swami Satchidananda (b. 1914),…set off
for Kailas from Sri Lanka
'I
have seen my Father'
How
could I want for more?
You
have appeared before me.
You
have rid me of all pain.
My
heart is full.
Oh
Lord Shiva, prostrations unto Thee'
Jai
Shiva! Jai Shiva! Jai Shiva!'
One who treads the soil of Kailas knows that he
is a blessed soul. No-one could possibly reach this place on his own. Only
those who have done great penance can win the grace of the Lord's strength
which enables one to achieve such a goal. Once he has seen his beautiful
person, ... the inner divine power that has lain dormant begins to function.
The mind concentrates effortlessly.

After Prayang we crossed Mayum La Pass (5200 meters) and descended down to Hore( 4900 meters) on the northern banks of Holy Manasarovar with lot of expectation. He didn't disappoint this time. Though it was hazy and visibility was little less we could clearly get the darshan of the Lord. We were overjoyed , every body has taken so much pain only for this particular moment and thanked the Lord for the same.
The driver parked the vehicle at the vantage view point to have the darshan of the Lord. We got down in ecstasy and thanked the Lord with prayer for giving such a wonderful darshan for all others it was the first yatra and their joy found no boundary. Everybody thanked the Lord in their own way some prostrated, some kneeled and prayed some body stood and recited mantras, and expressed their happiness. Second time the author also felt happy that what he missed lost time has got fulfilled this time. Then as a group we sang some bhajans and prayed to Lord Shiva that He should also allow us to circumambulate Him.
The view of kaiash is South Face Of the Lord known as Akor and represents Dhakshinamurthy. Later lunch was served to us at this place after offering the same to Shiva-Sakthi we took that Prasad. There were lot of sea gulls in the Manasarovar lake this time and many birds flew here and we fed them also.
A hotel building was under construction near the site and in future many yatris may be able to stay there and have the leisurely darshan of the Lord from Hore. Later we commenced our parikrama of Holy Manasarovar by bus.
