Trekking practice at Nayalam

Normally the day of acclimatizaton at Nayalam is also used for some trekking exercise in the nearby hillock. Our group also spent the half day in the same way. Some of our group members were sick so they didn't climb the hillock others went upto the summit and returned back.
Present day Nayalam
The wind was very cold at the summit and also wind velocity was also high. From the top the view of Nyalam was good, the Sun Kosi river, the Friendship Highway and different hued concrete buildings made a nice sight. It's not a big city but a transit place for all who travel to Kailash and Lhasa.

Trekking practice
As some of our group members were first timers and may be due to high altitude some of them fell sick. One thing we have to remember that we have to keep our body hydrated always so it is better to take lot of fluids, water,juices and cola in whatever for we have to drink. Also the appetite goes down as we go high, then also we have to eat what light meals we can eat, so that only it is advised to carry dry fruits, chocolates, snacks during this yatra so that we will stay fit for the tough journey and trekking at high altitudes.
Climbing down
During parikrama normally we follow a narrow path in which others have also trekked earlier. But here it was just like rock climbing. while climbing down we have to be very careful. Most of the time we require walking sticks while climbing down especially as the full load will on the knees it is better to wear knee caps. Thus the rest day at Nayalam was spent in waiting and some trekking practice.
