On the fifth day of the Holy yatra ( 12-05-11) to Mount Kailash the yatri's were blessed with the first darshan of Lord Shiva. Also they were blessed with a holy bath in the Holy Manasarovar lake for which even celestials long for.

The yatris had breakfast at Dongpa (4800m) and left by land cruiser to Quhu. Before reaching Quhu on the banks of Holy Manasarovar the yatris have to cross the mighty Brahmaputra river which was fully frozen at that time as it was the month of May. They had lunch at Brahmaputra and continued their journey .

The yatri's were overwhelemed with joy at the sight of Holy Lord with bull flag, who drank the dreaded poison to save the universe. They offered their prayer to the Lord who have the beautiful Lady Uma on his left side.
As this is for what they undertook this yatra so alla the hardships they underwent on the preceeding days vanished and there was only happiness and peace in their mind. They thanked Shivasakthi for having selected them showered their grace. They rememmbered that even after three days of stay some are not blessed with the full of the Lord.
Gowri Shankar
Manasarovar stands for Mother Sakthi and Kailash is Lord Shiva. So this view of both Kailash and Manasarovar is also called as Gowrishankar or Shivasakthi. Incidentally Manasarovar which aoriginated from the mind(manas) of Lord Brahma is also consideed as a Shakti peetam. One of the 51 Holiest shrones of Mother Goddess.
As can be seen the route is well laid with pucca tar road. Earlier it used to be a bone rattling journey. Now there is lot of improvement on the Chinese side and this has reduced the difficulties of the yatris.

After the ritual bath in Manasarovar the yatris rested on the banks of the Manasarovar as the next day was a rest day for them for conductiong some religious rituals on the banks of Manasarovar.
18th day Bus travel from Quhu to Qihu ( Zaidi) 39 Km Sunrise at Qihu
When we got up early in the morning the sight of Gurla Mandata ranges were astonishing, it had snowed the previous day night and the mountains looked as if it is covered with silver armor.

After some time it also started raining heavily and it was hail storm, snow balls fell. Our L.O told that if the rain doesn’t stop we may have to stay at Quhu and then we will go straight from here to Taklakot giving a go by to Qihu, but we were also worried that this will put the other group in great discomfort. But luckily to the comfort of everybody the rain stopped after one hour . Thus we had a glimpse of the fickle nature of weather at these altitudes in the last leg of our Manasarovar parikrama.
When we left all the streams where running with swollen waters because of rains but the driver skillfully passed through them in between at many places we got down from the bus so as to facilitate the bus to cross these streams. In between we found at a place lot of stones as all the stones of Manasarovar are considered Shiva Lingam we collected some of them for worship, in some places the sand was green in color and at one place there was red sand , some of our yatris collected them as souvenir for taking them back home. We all had a Holy dip in the Manasarovar lake for the fourth time as the water was crystal clear in this stretch as there is no human inhabitation. We also saw and wondered about the mechanaism for fetching water from the lake to a Gompa situated high on the mountain. We also saw a wild horse running merrily in those rocky plains, our guide explained that the species is almost extinct because of hunting by the humans and we were lucky to sight one. By lunch we reached Zaidi.
In Qihu we stayed at the guest house built by the devotees of Swami Sithanantha of Paramartha Niketan Ashram at Risikesh ( The swami who conducts Ganga arthi at Rishikesh which is telecast in sanskar channel). We could see that many Chinese are also the disciples of this Swami and as a thanks giving gesture the Chinese Government has allowed displaying the photos of the Swami in all the rooms. The guest houses are modern but the problem of toilets is the same here also. We had a nice rest after lunch and ventured out to Manasarovar shore when we left the weather was clear but suddenly it turned worse and wind started flowing at a high velocity and the waves of Manasarovar rose like that of the seas and it also started raining we started running but as it was high altitude it was very very difficult to run so we all got drenched when we reached the camp. It was just a trailer shown by the Lord that how kind He had been to us during the whole yatra. We never faced any problem throughout the yatra on the Chinese side, it was a perfect journey with the fullest darshan of the Lord. We thanked the Lord for the same.
There is a Gompa situated on a hillock and there are also hot springs in Zaidi because of rains our plan of visiting these places got cancelled. Ganga Chu connecting Manasarovar and Rakshas Tal is also nearby one can visit that also. As the weather was foul we all retired early to our beds on the last day of Parikrama of Holy Manasarovar. Though the author went and sat at the Manasarovar lakes’s shore in the middle of the night covering himself in full blanket he was not lucky to have witnessed any stars bathing in the lake, that is the only thing author missed , may be he didn’t try full heartedly so that only he was not blessed with that divine experience.
The 18th day was the day of completion of Manasarovar parikrama by the grace of Shivsakthi.

அன்று காலையில் எழுந்த போதே சீதோஷ்ணம் நன்றாக இல்லை, குர்லா மாந்தாத்தா மலை முழுவதும் இரவு பெய்த பனியால், வெள்ளிகவசம் போர்த்தியது போல் காட்சியளித்தது. ஒரு அரை மணி நேரத்தில் ஆலங்கட்டி மழையும் தொடங்கியது. எனவே பயணம் செய்ய முடியாதென்றால் இன்றும் இங்கேயே தங்கி் நேரடியாக தக்லகோட் செல்லலாம் என்று முடிவெடுத்தோம், அதே சமயம், நேபாள் வழியாக வந்த குழுவினருக்கு துன்பமாக முடியுமே என்றும் யோசனை செய்தோம். இறையருளால் அடுத்த ஒரு மணி நேரத்தில் சீதோஷ்ணம் நன்றாக சரியாகிவிட்டது. எனவே கிஹூவிற்கு (Qihu) பேருந்தில் புறப்பட்டோம், வழியெங்கும் ஆற்றில் தண்ணீர் வெகு வேகமாக ஓடின.
மேகங்கள் மூடிய நிலையில் மானசரோவரின் அழகு
வழியிலே காட்டு குதிரை, ஒன்றை பார்த்தோம். செல்லும் வழியில் ஒரு இடத்தில் மான சரோவர் கரை ஓரத்தில் நிறைய கற்கள் ஒதுங்கியிருந்தன , நாங்கள் இறங்கி நண்பர்களுக்கும், உறவினர்களுக்கும் சிவலிங்கங்களை(கற்களை) சேகரித்தோம். மானசரோவரின் ஒவ்வொரு கல்லும் சிவலிங்கம் தான். எனக்கு ஒரு ஓம் பொறித்த கல்லும், ஒரு சங்கு வடிவக் கல்லும் கிடைத்தது. பின் கிஹூ (Qihu)புத்த விகாரத்தை அடைந்தோம். அங்கு கரையோரம் சிவப்பு வண்ண மற்றும் பச்சை வண்ண மணல்கள் இருந்தன. சிலர் அவற்றையும் தங்கள் வீட்டுக்கு எடுத்துச்சென்றனர். நான்காவது முறையாக இங்கு மானசரோவரில் நீராடினோம்.
ரிஷிகேஷ் பரமார்த்த நிகேதன் சித்தானந்த சுவாமியின் பக்தர்கள் கட்டிக்கொடுத்த கிஹு தங்கும் விடுதி.
பின் மதிய உணவு சமயத்திற்கு கிஹூவை அடைந்தோம். கிஹூ ,ஜைடி (Zaidi) என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. அங்கு ரிஷிகேஷை சார்ந்த பரமார்த்த நிகேதனினின் சுவாமி் சித்தானந்தா ( ஆஸ்தா டி.வியில் கங்கை ஆரத்தி நடத்தும் சுவாமி) அவர்களின் பகதர்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட சுற்றுலா இல்லத்தில் தங்கினோம். இங்கு ஒரு சுடு தண்ணீர் ஊற்று உள்ளது. இங்குள்ள புத்த விகாரம் ஒரு குன்றின் மேல் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. சிறிது தூரம் மானசரோவர் கரை ஓரம் நடந்து விட்டு வருவோம் என்று புறப்பட்டோம், புறப்பட்டபோது žதோஷணம் நன்றாக இருந்தது, அங்கிருந்த ஒரு குகையை சென்று பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோம் திடீரென்று žதோஷணம் மாறியது, மானசரோவரில் அலைகள் கடல் அலைகள் போல எழுந்தன, பெருங்காற்று வீசத்தொடங்கியது. மழை வரும் போல் தோன்றியது நாங்கள் அவசர அவசரமாக முகாம் திரும்பினோம். அப்ப்போதுதான் உயர் மட்டங்களில் அதிகமாக உடற்பயிற்சி செய்தால் எவ்வளவு கடினமாக இருக்கும் என்பதை உணர்ந்தோம். அந்த ஆண்டவன் எவ்வளவு கருணையுடன் எங்களை நடத்தியுள்ளான் என்பதற்கு இந்த ஐந்து நிமிடம் ஒரு சான்று.
மலைமேல் அமைந்துள்ள கிஹூ புத்த விகாரம்
அன்று இரவு சுமார் இரண்டு மணி நேரம் பிரம்ம முஹூர்த்த நேரத்தில் சென்று மானசரோவர் கரையில் அமர்ந்திருந்தேன் ஆனால் நட்சத்திர தரிசனம் கிடைக்கவில்லை, அடியேன் முழு மனதுடன் முயற்சிக்கவில்லை என்பதாலோ என்னவோ? முழு யாத்திரையில் இது ஒன்று மட்டுமே ஒரு சிறு குறை.
இந்த பதினெட்டாம் நாள் சிவ சக்தியின் கருணையினால் மானசரோவர் கிரிவலம் முடித்த நாள்.
Parikrama of Holy Manasarovar 16th & 17th day stay at Quhu
Quhu means pure mind , apt only after having the darshan of the Lord of Universe our mind becomes clean because of their grace. As we traveled as a single group we gained a day which will be used for exchange of parikramas so we stayed at Qihu for two days. The first day was spent in taking rest, taking a holy dip in Holy Manasarovar, washing the clothes and making preparations for the havan (fire offerings) next day. We collected all the items every yatri has brought for havan and dried the wood and made everything ready and took a well deserved rest and in the evening had a bhajan session. Goswami and his team scouted the area and found a Havan Kund just opposite to Holy Kailsh and we cleaned that place for the next day's havan.

The next day, seventeenth day dawned beautifully suns rays converted the whole lake into a crimson and then to golden yellow we captured those beautiful moments in our video cameras. As that day happened to be a new moon day, it was especially an auspicious day for doing the duty for the ancestors , as it is considered holy to do the duty at Manasarovar every one of us had a ablution in Holy Manasarovar for the third time, here only the mustard oil came to our help , if we apply mustard oil to our body and enter into the near freezing waters of the lake we can remain for more time and finish all our duties. We took the waters of Manasarovar in our hand and with sesame seeds we offered the offerings to the Sun God to be transferred to the ancestors of our families, . Every one is supposed to be born with three debts on this earth , first Is the debt to Celestials, second to holy men and third to the ancestors so we offered sesame third with water three times and felt very happy and thanked the Lord and Mother for having given this golden opportunity.
Havan at the banks of Holy Manasarovar
After finishing an important duty at the banks of Holy Manasarovar we all assembled at the Havan Kund for the special Havan. Mudgal was the chief priest and Goswami assisted him. When we started the Havan the sky was cloudy and also there was little drizzle, at the point Goswami ordered that nobody should move from that place still the havan is over , Lord Shiva is just testing our will power and the drizzling is the holy shower of the Lord. Everybody agreed to do so and because of the determination of the group the drizzling stopped and the havan started. First everybody offered prayers to Lord Vinayaka. The personal deities which we have carried along with us were worshipped by ablution with holy Manasarovar water and then applying vibuthi, sandal and kumkum , First Ganapathy Homam was done . then Sri Rudra Homam followed .by Durga homam for Mother Parvati. Followed it with Navagraha homama, Sudarsana Homam and Sri Sukta homam and completed the homams with poornakuthi and thanked the Lord and Mother for having given us a fine darshan and also prayed for the welfare of the whole universe. At the time of completion of the homam the sky cleared and there was bright sunshine and Lord and Mother also gave their darshan to us at the start of the havan Kailash was covered with cloud. The dakshina of Rs 5000 was donated to the priests but they didn’t accept that and donated the amount to the two temples at Gunji and Kalapani on the return journey we deposited this amount in the hundis of these temples. After the homam the author and Dakshinamurthy did Bilva archana to the Lord with the 108 silver bilvas brought by Bokre couples. Thus we completed some important duties on this 17th Day and it was really a very satisfying day.

A group of yatris from Tamilnadu who traveled through Nepal joined the camp and we made adjustments to give them accommodation though preference was given to us . We vacated some rooms for them and five yatris stayed in a single room meant for two people from their group. In the evening some of them joined us in our Devaram recitation. In the night some blessed yatris from our group had the darshan of stars bathing in Manasarovar, but the author was not so lucky.

குஹூ என்பதற்கு மனதை தூய்மையாக்குதல் என்று பொருள், ஆம் அந்த சர்வேஸ்வரன் - சர்வேஸ்வரியின் தரிசனம் பெற்ற பின் மனதில் உள்ள அழுக்கு எல்லாம் அவர்களது அருட்புனலால் துடைக்கப்படுவதால் மனது நிர்மால்யமாகி விடுகின்றதல்லவா? எனவே இந்த்ப் பெயர் இந்த இடத்திற்கு மிகவும் ஏற்புடையது.
இரண்டு குழுக்களாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தால் குஹூவில் (4500 மீ உயரம்) ஒரு நாள் தான் தங்கியிருப்போம் பின் கிஹூ சென்று கைலாய கிரி வலம் சென்ற குழுவிற்காக காத்திருதிருந்திப்போம், ஒரே குழுவாக சென்றதால் இங்கே இரு நாட்கள் தங்கினோம். யாத்திரையின் 16 நாள் ஓய்வு எடுத்தோம்,
அடுத்த நாள் நடக்கப்போகின்ற யாகத்திற்கு வேண்டிய பொருட்களை தயார் செய்தோம்.
எங்கள் துணிகளை துவைத்து காய வைத்தோம்.
மானசரோவரின் நிமிடத்திற்கு நிமிடம் மாறும் வர்ண ஜால அழகை ரசித்தோம்.
குஹூ புத்த விகாரம்
அங்குள்ள புத்த விகாரத்திற்கு சென்று அதன் அழகை ரசித்தோம்,
மானசரோவர் கரையில் விளையாடும் பறவைகளை கண்டு சிவ சக்தியின் திருவிளையாடலாக நினைத்து ஆனந்தம் அடைந்தோம்.
முக்கியமாக கடினமான கிரிவலத்திற்குப்பின் மிகவும் அவசியமான ஓய்வு எடுத்தோம்,
மாலை மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் அனைவரும் இனைந்து பஜனை செய்தோம்.
இரவு அடியேனும், மற்றும் சில அன்பர்களும் நட்சத்திர ரூபத்தில் தேவர்கள் மானசரோவரில் நீராடுவதை காண அமர்ந்திருந்தோம் ஆனால் யாருக்கும் அந்த பாக்கியம் அன்று கிடைக்கவில்லை. இரவு வானத்திலே நட்சத்திரங்கள் கோடி கோடி காட்சி கொடுத்தன, உயர் மட்டம் என்பதாலும், மேலே காற்று மாசு அடையாமல் இருப்பதாலும் இருக்கலாம். அதே சமயம் இரவிலும் கூட ஒளிரும் மானசரோவரைக் கண்டு களித்தோம்.
17 நாள் மிகவும் முக்கியமான கடமைகளை மானசரோவரில் நிறைவேற்றினோம். மானசரோவர் தடாகத்தில் நீராடுவது , அதன் தீர்த்ததை பருகுவதும் அதன் கரைகளில் கிடைக்கும் வித விதமான நிறங்களையும், வடிவங்களையும் உடைய கற்களை எடுத்து வந்து சிவலிங்கமாக பூசை செய்வது மிகவும் புனிதமானது.
காலைச்சூரியன் உதிக்கும் காட்சி மானசரோவர் கரையில்
முதாலவதாக மானசரோவரில் மூன்றாம் முறையாக நீராடினோம் இங்கு கடுகு எண்ணெய் தேய்த்துக் கொண்டு மானசரோவரில் இறங்கினால் அதிக நேரம் நீரில் இருக்கலாம் என்பதால் இன்று கடுகு எண்ணெயை உடலில் பூசிக் கொண்டு மானசரோவரில் குளித்தோம். ஏனென்றால் ஒரு மிக முக்கியமான கடமையை இன்று செய்ய வேண்டி இருந்தது.
நமது இந்து தர்மத்தில் நமது முன்னோர்களை வழிபடுவதற்கு மிகவும் முக்கியத்துவம் தரப்பட்டுள்ளது. அவர்களுக்கு சிரார்த்தம் செய்து பித்ரு பூஜை செய்வது என்பது எல்லோருக்கும் விதிக்கப்பட்டிருகின்ற ஒரு கடமை. அமாவாசை, மாத பிறப்பு, வருட திதி, கிரகண காலம், ஆகிய தினங்களில் புண்ய நதிகளில் நாம் பக்தி சிரத்தையுடன் செய்யும் திதி சிரார்த்தம் என்றழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. இவ்விதம் நாம் நமது மூதாதையர்களுக்கு செய்யும் பூஜையின் பலனால் குலம் தழைக்கும், குழந்தைகள் நன்மைகளை பெறுவார்கள், மிகப்பெரிய கடன் தொல்லைகள் தீரும், நீண்ட ஆயுளைப் பெறலாம். சுவர்க்கம் கிட்டும் என்று மஹா பாரதம் கூறுகின்றது. இவ்விதம் நாம் செய்யும் பூசையின் பலன் சூரிய ஒளிக்கதிர்களின் மூலம் பித்ரு தேவதைகளை அடைந்து அவர்கள் மூலம் நம் மூதாதையர்களை சென்று அடைகின்றன. அதனால் அவர்கள் மகிழ்ந்து நம்மையும் நமது சந்ததியினரையும் ஆசிவதிக்கின்றனர். இப்போது இந்த அவசர உலகத்திலே, தனிக் குடும்பங்களாக ஆகி விட்ட சமயத்தில் அனைவரும் இந்த கடைமையை சரி வர செய்ய முடிவதில்லை. எனவே தான் காசி, இராமேஸ்வரம், கயா முதலிய புனித இடங்களில் நாம் செய்யும் சிரார்த்தம் பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு நாம் சிரார்த்தம் செய்த பலனைத்தருகின்றது. அது போலவே மானசரோவர் கரையில் செய்யும் பித்ரு காரியம் மிகவும் விசேஷமானது. இன்றைய தினம் அமாவாசை தினம் என்பதால் திதி கொடுப்பதற்கு மிகவும் உகந்த நாளாகவும் இறையருளால் அமைந்தது. இன்றே பித்ருக்களான திதி கொடுத்தோம், சூரியனைப் பார்த்து முதலில் ரிஷ’களுக்கான கடனை அடைக்க ஒரு முறையும், இரண்டாவது தேவர்களுக்கான கடனை அடைக்க அடுத்த முறையும், அவரவர்கள் மூதாதயர்களுக்கான கடனை அடைக்க மூன்றாவது முறையாக எள்ளும் நீரும் இறைத்தோம். பின் யாக குண்டத்தின் முன் வந்து அமர்ந்தோம்.
உலக நன்மைக்காக மானசரோவர் கரையில் யாகம்
அன்று காலையிலிருந்தே சிறிது மேக மூட்டமாக இருந்தது. நாங்கள் யாகத்தை ஆரம்பிக்க செல்லும் போது சிறு து‘றலும் போட்டது, எங்கள் பிரதான யக்ஞ கர்த்தா திரு கோஸ்வாமி அவர்கள் யாரும் யக்ஞம் முடியும் வரையில் எழுந்து செல்லக்க்கூடாது என்று பிரதிக்ஞை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள், அந்த சிவபெருமான் காப்பாற்றுவார் என்று அன்புடன் கட்டளையிட்டார், அதே போலவே அனைவரும் அம்ர்ந்திருந்தோம் சிறிது நேரம் சென்றதும் மேகம் விலகி சூரியன் வந்து நாங்கள் செய்யும் யக்ஞத்தை பார்வையிட்டார். அதைப்பார்த்து திரு கோஸ்வாமி அவர்கள் நம்மை ஆசிர்வதப்பதற்காகவே யக்ஞத்தின் ஆரம்பத்தில் வருண பகவான் வந்து தூறல் போட்டு சென்றார். இப்போது சூரியனும் நம்மை ஆசிர்வதிக்க வந்துள்ளார் என்று கூறினார். முதலில் அவரவர்கள் கொண்டு வந்து சொந்த மூர்த்திகளுக்கு அபிஷேகம் செய்தோம், பின் விபூதி, அட்சதை அர்பணித்து பின் யாகத்தை துவக்கினோம். முதலில் ஸ்ரீ ருத்ர யாகம் செய்தோம், பின் சக்தி பீடத்தில் அம்பாளை துர்கா ஹோமம் நடத்தி வழி பட்டோம் பின் நவக்கிரக ஹோமம், ஸ்ரீ சுக்த ஹோமம் சுதர்சன ஹோமம் முதலியன மிக விஸ்தாரமாக செய்து இவ்வளவு நல்ல தரிசனத்தை தந்த சிவ சக்திக்கு , செந்துவர்வாய் உமை பங்கனுக்கு, சங்க வெண் குழைக் காதுடை எம்பெருமானுக்கு, தையலோர் பங்கினருக்கு, கொன்றை மதியமும், கூவிள மத்தமும் துன்றிய சென்னியருக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தினோம். பின் பூர்ணாகுதி செய்து யாகத்தை முடித்தோம், அது வரை மேகத்தில் மறைந்திருந்த கைலாயம் மேகம் விலகி தரிசனம் தர ஆரம்பித்தது. எங்கள் பூஜையை அந்த எங்கோனும், எங்கள் பிராட்டியும், ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு அருள் பாலித்தனர். பின்

என்னும் அஷ்ட புஷ்ப அர்ச்ச்னை செய்தோம். பின் திரு போக்ரே தம்பதிகள் கொண்டு வந்திருந்த 108 வெள்ளி வில்வ தளங்களால் எம்பெருமானுக்கு அடியேனும், திரு தனுஷ்கோடி அவர்களும் வில்வ அர்ச்சனை செய்தோம். இவ்வாறு எம்பெருமான் அருமையான ஒரு தரிசனமும் கொடுத்து அவருக்கு செய்ய நினைத்த பூஜைகள் அனைத்தும் சிறப்பாக செய்யுமாறு அருள் பாலித்தார். பின் அன்று முழுவதும் ஓய்வு எடுத்தோம்.
நேபாள் வழியாக யாத்திரை வந்த தமிழ் நாட்டுக் குழுவினர் அதே நாள் குஹூ வந்து சேர்ந்தனர், அவர்களுக்காக சில அறைகளை ஒதுக்கி கொடுத்தோம், இருவர் தங்க வேண்டிய ஒரு அறையில் அவர்கள் ஐந்து பேர் தங்கினர் அன்று. எங்கள் பஜனையில் அவர்களில் சிலரும் கலந்து கொண்டு தேவாரம் இசைத்தனர். இன்று இரவு சிலருக்கு நட்சத்திர தரிசனம் மூன்று முறை கிடைத்தது. இந்த 17ம் நாள் கடமைகளை நிறைவேற்றிய நாள். இன்றைய தினம் யாகத்திற்கு தட்சனையாக சுமார் ரூபாய் 5000 சேர்ந்தது. அதில் அடியேனுடன் பணிபுரியும் அன்பர் ஒருவர் தான் நீரிழிவு நோய் உள்ளவர் என்பதால் நான் கயிலை செல்ல முடியாது, தங்களுக்கு அந்த வாய்ப்பு கிட்டியுள்ளது எனவே தாங்கள் விரும்பிய வகையில் இந்த பணத்தை செலவழித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று ரூபாய் 1001/- அளித்தார். மற்றும் ஒரு அன்பர் 101/- ரூபாய் அர்ச்சனைக்காக வழங்கினார் அந்தத் தொகைகளை நான் இன்று யாக தட்சினையாக அளித்தேன். திரு கோஸ்வாமி அவர்கள் இவ்வாறு சேர்ந்த யாக தட்சினையை காலாபானி மற்றும் கூஞ்சியில் உள்ள கோவில்களுக்கு வழங்கி விடுவாம் என்று கூறினோம் அவ்வாறே திரும்பி வரும் போது அந்த தொகையை இரண்டு கோவில்களில் உள்ள உண்டியலில் சேர்த்தோம்.
இவ்வாறு இரண்டு நாட்கள் குஹுவில் ஒய்வு எடுத்து முக்கிய கடமையாம் யக்ஞமும் சிவ சக்திக்கு நன்றியும் செலுத்தினோம்.

Earlier the yatris who visit Asthapath used to trek but nowadays small vans have started plying and the yatris can go upto the bottom of the Asthapath. From here we get the closest view of Lord’s south face . It ‘s here that the first prophet of jains attained Nirvana. There is a samadhi built in this place resembling Buddhist chortens here. Normally the pilgrims who come here do a havan in front of the Lord , our group also did a elaborate havan and all of us recited mantras and prayed to the Lord for the wellbeing of everybody and also thanked him for this grace .
We returned back to the camp and with heavy heart that we are leaving from the feet of the Lord left by bus to Quhu the first days halt on the Manasarovar Parikrama. As we were traveling towards Manasarovar we could clearly see the east face of the Lord. When we were nearer to the Lord we could not see this face clearly the Thatpurush face stands for decisiveness and signifies that the decisions have to be taken with a long term perspective only. We stopped in between and had a good darshan of the Lord. In detail we will see how this east face of the Lord is described in Hindu scriptures.

Thatprush face is youthful and white in color and represents wind in the five elements. It stands for sustenance and of the five syllables this face stands for “Va”. The Lord is of Maheshwara form and mother Gnana Sakthi ( Power of Wisdom). Bikshadana, kamadahana, kaalanthaka, salantharai, tiripuranthaka are aspects of this face. This face is like a pure glass and flashes like lightning. We prayed the Lord with the following mantra
Now we will see about the fifth face of the Lord, which according to legends faces skyward. The Esana face is child like and shines like a pure marble. This face represents sky in the five elements and represents the bestower of blessings on the mankind, In the five syllables this face stands for “ya”. Lord is of Sathashiva form and mother Para Sakthi. Normally we don’t get to see this face as we do the parikrama at the feet of the Lord and no body is allowed to go anywhere near the Kailsh mountain as it is holy and also it is believed that countless rishis are doing penance there around Holy Kailash and if we dare not disturb their penance. But this aerial picture gives us an idea about the summit of Kailash , you can easily make out that Holy kailsh mimics a Shiva Linga the formless form of the Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva can be worshipped in any mode in Chidambaram He is worshipped as space ie formless. In all the temples He is worshipped in the formless form of Lingam, he is also worshipped many forms the important ones being Dancing Lord Nataraja, Somaskanda or Thiyagaraja, Chandrasekara (the one with moon crescent) and many more forms. The dara if Viswa linga is on the east side and the top is round. Some believe that Kailash is in the form of celestial symbol Om. Some believe that Kailash is in the form of Sri Chakra the abode of Divine Mother with four faces representing the four gates of Sripura and the fifth face representing the Bindu . We pray this face of the Lord with the following mantra
As usual the journey was bone rattling and we crossed a lot of steams some times we will get down from the bus to facilitate the crossing of streams. We passed through the parakkah valley and had our lunch at Hore village. Earlier Hore was also a camp site but now as a full fledged village has developed there, no camp is being set up there. As it was lunch time we purchased some fruits and cool drinks in the local market at Hore. Then we traveled to Chrelung Gompa. From there we got the majestic view of the Kailsh, the towering perpetually snow clad peak rising above the surrounding mountain and It appeared to us like a King and Queen sitting in their majestic throne and overseeing their whole kingdom. Here the King and Queen are the parents of the whole Universe. After a long journey we reached the Quhu camp in the evening. Some of the yatris visited the gompa and witnessed the rituals taking place there and the others took rest. Some had a dip in Manasarovar but many of us postponed it for the next day.

As that day was pradosham day the author and Dhanuskodi started chanting Sri Rudram, which contains Om Nama Shivaya Mantra at its heart. Soon others also joined them. Both of us explained to yatris from other states about the history of Appar and chanted his hymns , every body recited some hymns in their language and in the end we all in a group chanted the following Maha Mrithyunjaya Mantra
Om Thrayambakam yajAmahE suganthim pushti varthanam |
21 times and Holy five syllables “OM NAMASHIVAYA”108 times and then had a Aarthi seva. This practice which started on this day continued till the end of the yatra.

As at this high altitude pollution is very less we could clearly see the sky with a multitude of stars. Normally at plains we seldom see so many stars. We were little unfortunate that our yatra time didn’t coincide with full moon day whereas those who travel through Nepal normally plan their trip in a way that they are on the banks of Manasarovar on full moon day. In no way the darshan we got is less spectacular but it would have been better to see the pure wayers of Holy Manasarovar reflecting the majesty of the surrounding snow clad mountins on a brightly lit full moon day.

As we had been told that the celestials bath in Holy Manasarovar in the form of stars during the twilight hours ie morning 3 o; clock to 5 o’clock called Brahma Muhurtham, very auspicious time for doing yoga and other sathanas we went and sat at the Manasarovar’s shore, To sit in that freezing cold with blanket wrapped really needed great courage, we braved that cold, but we were not blessed with that holy sight .
